History of St John: The city is a rich center for history and culture. St. John is home to the Virgin Islands National Park, established under a program started by Laurance Rockefeller in 1956 and one of its chief attractions. This is roughly 80 percent of the island pristine untouched, including some stunning white sand beaches.
